Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 November 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Tsuna. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our platform.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Account information (name, email address, username)
- Profile information (bio, profile photo, location)
- Content you create (posts, comments, messages)
- Communications with us
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Process transactions and send related information
- Send you technical notices and support messages
- Respond to your comments and questions
- Protect against fraudulent or illegal activity
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances: with your consent, to comply with legal obligations, to protect our rights, or with service providers who assist in our operations.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
6. Our Legal Bases for Using Your Data
Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR we must have a lawful basis for every use of your personal data:
- Contract — running your account, showing your profile, delivering posts and messages.
- Consent — optional extras you switch on yourself, such as letting search engines list your profile, push notifications, and non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the platform safe and secure, preventing abuse, and basic service statistics.
- Legal obligation — keeping safety evidence and payment records where the law requires it.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data, and receive a copy of it in a portable format
- Correct inaccurate data
- Have your data erased
- Object to, or restrict, how we process your data
- Withdraw consent at any time
You can exercise the main rights yourself, instantly: go to Settings → Privacy to download a complete copy of your data or permanently delete your account. You can edit or correct anything on your profile at any time. For anything else, email us and we will respond within one month.
8. How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep your account data for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account, your profile, posts, photos, music and messages are removed straight away. Limited records are kept longer where we are required to: safety and moderation evidence (for handling abuse and any police referral), and payment records, which UK tax law requires us to keep for six years. Notifications and activity logs are removed with your account.
9. Children
Tsuna is for people aged 16 and over. We ask for a date of birth at sign-up and refuse accounts for anyone under 16. If we learn that an under-16 has created an account, we will delete it.
10. Where Your Data Is Stored
Your data is stored with our hosting and database providers, and some of our service providers (for example email delivery, payment processing and automated safety checks) are based outside the UK and EEA. Where data is transferred internationally, it is protected by Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard approved under the GDPR.
11. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to enable basic functionality. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising and we do not sell your personal data. See our Cookie Policy for details.
12. Automated Safety Checks
Posts, comments and messages are automatically checked for bullying, harassment, hate speech and threats. A match can trigger a warning to your account and, for serious cases, removal. No account is permanently removed by the automated system alone — a human reviews it first, and you can appeal any decision by contacting us.
13. Contact and Complaints
Tsuna is the data controller for your personal data. For any privacy question or request, contact us at support@tsuna.social. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to your local data protection authority in the EU.
